Alkeon Capital Management is a New York-based investment firm that invests in technology and technology-enabled growth companies across both public and private markets. It was founded in 2002 by Panayotis "Takis" Sparaggis, who remains the firm's chief investment officer. SEC records place his control of the management company in November 2001, and the first Alkeon Growth Partners vehicle began sales in January 2003. The firm's Form ADV filed 30 March 2026 reports approximately 25.3 billion dollars in regulatory assets under management.
Alkeon runs long-only and long/short equity strategies alongside a private growth-equity practice. Its research process is fundamental and bottom-up, organized around durable technology themes: cloud and data infrastructure, software delivered as a service, artificial intelligence, digital payments, cybersecurity and internet consumer platforms. Because the firm invests on both sides of the public-private line, it often takes positions in late-stage private rounds and continues holding the same businesses after they list, which makes it a crossover investor rather than a conventional venture fund.
Companies associated with its public and private books include Snowflake, Databricks, UiPath, Toast, Unity, CrowdStrike, Zoom and MongoDB. Private investments are typically Series B and later, where revenue already exists and the underwriting question is the durability of growth rather than product-market fit. The firm is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser, files quarterly holdings reports, and manages capital for institutions, family offices and private clients from its New York office.
“Applies rigorous fundamental research across public and private technology companies to identify compounding growth opportunities.”
Panayotis "Takis" Sparaggis founded Alkeon and controls it. Form ADV Schedule A lists him as managing director with a 75 percent or greater ownership stake and a title acquired in November 2001. Gregory D. Jakubowsky is chief operating officer and chief compliance officer and George Mykoniatis is chief financial officer, both in post since February 2006, and Jennifer W. Shufro has served as managing director of legal and compliance since July 2013. Sparaggis, Mykoniatis and Jakubowsky are the executive officers named across Alkeon's Form D filings, from the Alkeon Global Alpha hedge vehicles through the Alkeon Innovation private funds.
The firm reports 82 employees, 30 of them performing investment advisory and research functions, working from New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Florida. Alkeon also still advises Advantage Advisers Global Growth funds, legacy vehicles carried on its adviser registration.
Alkeon's oldest vehicle, Alkeon Growth Partners LP, records a first sale in January 2003 and had sold $3.04 billion to 2,091 investors by its October 2025 Form D amendment. Alkeon Growth Partners II opened in July 2010 and has sold $1.27 billion, while the parallel Alkeon Growth PW Partners and Alkeon Growth RJ Partners channels both launched in September 2010, PW at $1.25 billion sold. Alkeon Select Partners followed in March 2013 and has sold $167.7 million.
The dedicated late-stage private program began with Alkeon Innovation Fund LP, which sold $238.5 million to 399 investors after its May 2019 first close. Alkeon Innovation Fund II sold $1.03 billion to 1,160 investors in 2021. Later vehicles include Alkeon Innovation Co-Invest I, Alkeon Innovation Fund Holdings at $80.2 million in August 2025, a lettered Alkeon Innovation Series, and an Alkeon Innovation Special Opportunities Fund that sold $146.1 million in May 2026.
