Alic co-founded UC Berkeley's CITRIS Foundry, one of the early university deep-tech accelerators, before spinning that experience into Blue Bear Ventures, giving him unusually deep exposure to dozens of frontier-science founding teams at the university lab stage. He maintains an active presence in the UC Berkeley entrepreneurship ecosystem while running a specialist deep-tech fund, allowing him to continuously source and nurture lab-to-market projects at the moment of spinout in a way that's particularly distinctive to his career path.
