Tom Chi combines his background as an astrophysical researcher, Fortune 500 consultant, and Google X founding team member to evaluate climate technologies through an unusually broad technical and business lens that spans astrophysics, hardware, software, and product leadership. He applies Google X's rapid prototyping methodology ("learn in hours, not months") to help portfolio companies iterate faster while requiring investments to be "net positive for nature" at the unit economics level—meaning companies must structurally pull down more CO₂ and support more biodiversity rather than just reducing harm.
