Atomic is a venture capital firm based in San Francisco, CA founded in 2012.

For many years, I worked in the world of art and aesthetics in the art galleries of New York. I thought this was where I was going to spend the rest of my life because it was such an interesting space where I got to interact with interesting people on a daily basis. I also previously worked as a senior software engineer at Hunch, a collective intelligence decision making system that got acquired by eBay.Being a manager and someone who's on the founding team, you get to see exactly how the sausage is made. There's so much that you don't pick up in school, that you can really only learn on the job. It’s an amazing gift to see all of the ins and outs of fundraising, developing a sales and marketing team, and setting up a go to market strategy.Travel has always been a big part of my identity, and in 2018 I wrote a book about one of my trips called A Brown Man in Russia: Lessons Learned on the Trans-Siberian. It’s a story about the importance of cross-cultural connections, which is ultimately what motivated me to start Butter. Many accidental payment failures happen internationally and it’s usually traced back to old antiquated payments rails that lead to false declines.

The firm focuses on Pre-Seed, Seed, Series A, Series B+ investments across sectors including Aerospace & Defense, Digital Health, Other, Consumer, Fintech.

Notable portfolio companies include Hims & Hers, Bungalow, Found and Paymi.
