Meghan Moreland

Principal

Meghan Moreland is a Principal with Riot Ventures, based in the firm's Los Angeles office, where she sources, diligences, and supports the portfolio from pre-seed through growth stages and researches new areas where technology is at the tipping point of transforming critical industries. At Riot she has led investments in Integrate, program management software for hardware engineers; Nodal, AI software for ports and terminal operations; and STOR, which builds advanced systems for food preservation. Before Riot, Moreland was an investor at B Capital Group, where she led investments in Clari, Kandji, Stord, Comparably, acquired by ZoomInfo, and OwnBackup. She began her career at J.P. Morgan after graduating with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, and leads the ambassador board of 9 Dots, a nonprofit focused on STEM education for under-served schools and communities.

Stephen Marcus

Stephen Marcus is a Co-Founder and General Partner of Riot Ventures, a deeptech firm devoted to a select group of companies with checks up to $200 million. A six-time company founder and chief executive, he spent more than twenty years building large-scale wireless infrastructure and datacenters before turning to investing. He sits on the boards of Shield AI in aerospace and defense, Valar Atomics in nuclear power, Endurosat in satellite constellations, Blue Water Autonomy in autonomous surface ships, Sovera, Resurgent Industries and Nodal Networks. Riot reports that he has invested in a half dozen unicorns and decacorns with a combined market capitalization of more than $200 billion, among them the public companies Okta, Toast and Desktop Metal. He holds a B.S. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
