Acequia Capital was founded in 2010 by Hank Vigil, a former senior Microsoft executive, and states it has invested in more than 350 technology companies with over a decade of consistent top-quartile returns. Its SEC filings show a platform assembled from many small vehicles rather than a few large funds. Acequia Capital III LLC raised $5.76 million with a first sale on 2 February 2015, with Vigil and Richard Lanman as directors.
The firm then moved to annual vintages under the Origin label. Acequia Capital Origin 21 LP sold $10.47 million from July 2021 and Origin 22 LP filed in July 2022. Acequia Capital Origin LP, formed in 2023, had sold $19.53 million against a $100 million offering as of December 2025, against a first sale in December 2024, and Acequia Capital Origin SBIC LP followed in 2025. Dozens of single-company SPVs sit alongside the funds. Acequia Capital Management LLC is the registered investment adviser, CRD 176533.
